Editorial Design
We turn complex content into publications that are clear, well-organized, and easy to consult. We design documents where structure, hierarchy, and visual language work together so information is easier to understand.

What can we design?
When content matters, so does how it's organized
Editorial design isn't just about laying out pages. It's about giving structure to information, defining reading levels, and building a visual system that helps the reader understand the content without losing rigour.
At Cactus, we work on corporate, institutional, commercial, and technical publications with very different volumes of information. We analyze the content before giving it shape, and we define grids, hierarchies, typography, graphics, and visual resources that make reading easier and ensure each document works as a coherent whole.
It's not just about laying out information. It's about making it easier to understand.
Designing the information before laying it out
When a publication contains many pages, levels of information, graphics, tables, or technical content, starting straight from the layout tends to produce documents that are hard to maintain and even harder to consult.
That's why we first analyze how the content is structured. We define what's primary, what's secondary, how the different parts relate to one another, and what resources can help the reader find their way around.
From there, we build a coherent editorial system that can be applied to the whole document and adapted to the particularities of each section without losing visual unity.
The result isn't just a more attractive publication, but a clearer, more useful, and easier-to-use communication tool.

asked questions
If you have any questions we haven't answered or need to evaluate a specific case, we'll be happy to help. Tell us about your project and we'll offer the best solution for your business.
What does an editorial design project include?
It depends on each publication, but it may include content analysis, grid definition, typographic hierarchies, layout, infographics, image treatment, final artwork preparation, and digital adaptation.
Can you work with documents that are already written?
Yes. We can start from finished content and give it visual structure, or help reorganize it when we find that the information needs a clearer architecture before starting the layout.
Can you work on publications with many pages?
Yes. It’s precisely in lengthy documents that it’s especially important to define a solid editorial system that keeps things coherent, makes consultation easier, and streamlines production.
Do you design product catalogues?
Yes. We design commercial and technical catalogues, working on the hierarchy of products, specifications, photographs, tables, and other content so they’re easy to consult.
Can you create infographics and graphics?
Yes. We turn data, processes, and concepts into visual resources that help synthesize information and improve the document’s comprehension.
Do you create accessible documents?
Yes. We can design and prepare accessible digital documents, taking into account both the visual structure and the technical requirements needed to make them easier to consult.
Do you also handle printing?
We can prepare final artwork and coordinate with printers and other suppliers so the final production respects the design’s characteristics.
Can you create a template for our team to generate new publications?
Yes. When there are recurring documents, we can define systems and templates that keep visual coherence and simplify the production of future editions.
